rescues & rehomes

a rescue is a dog who has been removed from a situation or a place such as a shelter.  in most cases, we do not know where he came from, nor do we have any information on the dog, including his exact age.  we do keep all of our rescues for a few weeks before offering them for adoption, during which time we assess their health and temperament.  health conditions are treated and temperament issues noted.  all our rescues are socialised and crate trained.

a rehome is a dog originally born from one of our breedings who for one reason or another came back to us.  in most cases, we are able to provide the adoptive family with all history and health records. we are usually able to provide a certificate of registration for the dog.

summer

som is about 18 months old.  she is a wonderful, always happy little girl.  she seems to be american styled, very solid at about 22 1/2" tall.  she is a little aloof, although not shy, very playful and affectionate.  she loves to play  with another dog of any size. but can be fearful in a group of several dogs.  although she has never hurt our cats, som can be a little bit enthousisatic with them.

jake
jake  came to us from an animal enforcement service.  he is approximately 3 years old and has been neutered.  he has had a tough battle with mange and is now finally on the mend.  he was also suffering from many infected wounds and was badly malnourished.  after more than a year with us he is beginning to look like the healthy happy boy he deserves to be.  jake is a tall boy standing about 26 1/2 " tall and is now 65 lb.  he is very affectionate and loves to be with people.  he has now totally overcome his shyness and greets everyone with cuddles and kisses.  he is great with dogs and cats.  he has learnt basic obedience and is a very reliable obedient boy.  jake would do well in a one or two persons  family without children due to his history of abuse.

when he first came to us

now, after 14 months of care

voyou
voyou is a young male no more than 12 months old.  he was found in a shelter where he was dropped off by his owner at the age of 5 months because "he was no good with the cows".  he is a very lively active boy, very loving and fun of children.  he gets along well with other dogs but do have a strong prey drive so he would probably do best in a home wthout cats or small animal.

bear
bear was brought to us by the local animal enforcement services.  he was at the time very seriously injured but thanks to the kindness of the enforcement officer and to the vet's incredible surgical skills ,  bear's front leg was saved.  he has now recovered from his surgery and is looking for a very stable loving home.  bear is a one year old charming boy, calm and discreet.  he loves playing with other dogs and the cats, but is still not too sure how to enjoy a good cuddle from his human friends.

brutus
brutus was brought to us by a local animal protection organization.  he is approximately 12 months old.  he is very affectionate and loves to play ball.  he is very people oriented and absolutely adores children, but  he is a strong pup so caution should be exercised around very young children.  he is a no problem dog per se.  he has no issues with cats and small animals and  plays well with other dogs , but does not back out from a fight should a dominant male attack him.   his tail has not been docked. loving, playful and very responsive to training, brutus will make a wonderful family pet.
